Is Malegra DXT Plus Recommended For Men With A History Of Hypertension?
Malegra DXT Plus is a combination medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE). It contains two active ingredients: Sildenafil Citrate (100 mg) and Dapoxetine (60 mg).
Sildenafil (ED treatment):
Sildenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, increases blood flow to the penis, helping men with ED. However, it can lower blood pressure. In people with hypertension, this can sometimes lead to a modest drop in blood pressure (around 6 mmHg systolic), which is generally well tolerated in stable hypertensive patients.
However, serious interactions can occur if you are taking nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) or alpha-blockers, commonly used for BP control. Combining these can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Dapoxetine (PE treatment):
Dapoxetine is an SSRI that helps delay ejaculation. Its effect on blood pressure is generally mild, but it may increase heart rate and cause slight fluctuations in BP in some individuals.
The combined effect of sildenafil and dapoxetine may lead to more pronounced effects on blood pressure regulation, which could be a concern for men with uncontrolled or fluctuating hypertension.
If you have a history of hypertension, Malegra DXT Plus may not be recommended unless your blood pressure is well-controlled and you are closely monitored by your doctor.
