IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Miramar
IWC Schaffhausen adds a new ceramic colour to its “TOP GUN colour collection” with the Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar. This watch features a new ceramic case in a light blue shade called “TOP GUN Miramar”, developed by IWC and Pantone®. The case is paired with a matching dial and rubber strap. In addition, the Swiss luxury watchmaker is also launching a stainless steel version of the new Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar with a “TOP GUN” Miramar dial and rubber strap. Both chronographs are powered by IWC's in-house 69000 calibre family with a power reserve of up to 46 hours.
IWC's expertise in ceramics has enabled it to create watches in the “TOP GUN” collection in a wide range of colours. Inspired by the world of naval aviation and developed in collaboration with Pantone®, these colors include Mojave Desert, Lake Tahoe, Woodland, Ocean and Ink Black. Now, the Swiss luxury watchmaker is launching a new color, “TOP GUN Miramar”, inspired by the light blue T-shirts worn under the flight suits of the instructors of the “TOP GUN Naval Air Combat Force”. These instructors are highly skilled pilots and instructors after rigorous selection and intensive training.
The Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar (Ref. IW389409) features a light blue ceramic case with a matching dial and a waterproof rubber strap. The blue hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced readability in low-light conditions. The process of creating colored ceramic watches is an extraordinary feat of materials engineering. Zirconium oxide is mixed with different metal oxides in precisely set proportions. Since the color changes during the sintering process, many trials are required to achieve the desired effect. One particular challenge was transferring the new ceramic color to other parts of the watch, such as the dial and rubber strap. Each component is made of a material with unique properties and requires a specific manufacturing process.
The Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388117) marks the first time that IWC Schaffhausen has used a Pantone® color in a stainless steel watch. The chronograph features a 41 mm stainless steel case with a TOP GUN Miramar blue dial and a rubber strap. The rhodium-plated hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility.

High-precision chronograph movement inside
Both chronographs are powered by IWC-manufactured 69000-caliber family movements. These chronograph movements are designed for robustness, reliability and precision. The column wheel ensures clear switching sequences and provides clear tactile feedback when the buttons are pressed. The efficient double-pawl winding system provides the mainspring with a 46-hour power reserve. IWC's signature vertical dial layout places the minute counter at 12 o'clock for intuitive reading. The stainless steel model is equipped with a transparent caseback to see the movement in action, while the ceramic model features a titanium caseback engraved with the iconic "TOP GUN" logo. In addition, the watch is equipped with a soft iron inner case to protect the movement from magnetic interference.
Both watches are equipped with the EasX-CHANGE® system developed in-house by IWC. This innovative feature allows the wearer to easily remove the strap from the spring bar and replace it with a new one by simply pressing a button on the strap. Since the system does not require any tools, changing the strap or bracelet is quick and easy.
